This gorgeous dress combines a large auspicious pattern and family crest patterned tsutsugaki cotton (likely a futon cover from the Meiji era) with indigo-dyed shosei-gasuri (student-style kasuri, often used for kendo hakama).
Sashiko stitching is applied around the design.
The collar facing and cuffs are shosei-gasuri, while the hem is finished with indigo-dyed cotton.
The buttons are handmade from Yakusugi cedar.
This is a wonderful piece created by a sashiko specialist and a craftsman with many years of experience.
